Curious, compassionate,
culturally-informed therapy
Raisa Luther, CPsychol
|Clinical Psychologist|
London
Hello, I’m Raisa.
It’s difficult to find a qualified therapist, who grasps the intricacies of South Asian cultural nuances and family dynamics, and can provide therapy that honours and respects those cultural backgrounds.
I understand this, and I’m here to help you.
If you're seeking to break free from unhealthy attachment patterns and committed to breaking the cycle of generational trauma - I see you. If you consider yourself a 'cycle-breaker' - we'd be a great fit!
What are you looking for?
I provide culturally sensitive therapy for individuals, couples, and families facing personal, situational, or unexpected difficulties.
I work with immigrants, adult children of immigrant parents, people who identify as Brown, Black, people of colour, South Asian / Indian or members of the Indian Diaspora and mixed-race couples.

FAQs
-
I use a blend of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) in my practice, along with EMDR and a trauma-informed approach.
These approaches are proven to help individuals overcome challenges and achieve lasting change. -
I work integratively, meaning I draw from different scientific and holistic approaches.
I also try to work through a social justice, anti-oppressive lens, working to decolonise therapeutic paradigms within the South Asian community.
-
Some of the core areas I can help you with are Depression, Anxiety, OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder), Addictions, Trauma (particularly intergenerational and family trauma), and relationship issues.
I do not specialise in or see clients experiencing suicidal ideation or self-harming behaviours. I also do not work with clients with personality disorders or eating disorders.
If you are experiencing any of these issues, I am not the clinician for you.

Whether you prefer a structured approach or a more flexible arrangement, I tailor the therapy experience to meet your needs.
Following our initial assessment session, I'll typically recommend the most suitable session frequency and duration for your specific needs.
-
I currently offer virtual therapy only. This means that you can access therapy conveniently from anywhere with online therapy sessions, and enjoy the flexibility of receiving support from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
Virtual therapy is scientifically proven to be as effective as face to face therapy.
If I feel your needs may not be suitably met by virtual therapy for any reason, I will let you know this in our assessment session.
